Mountains, hills, sea. In the Marche region you can find everything the Natura has to offer, in every season. Long footpath for the walking or cycling lovers, large beaches, clean sea. You and the Nature will find a new feeling full of colors, smells, sounds.

The Conero Park

The Mount Conero (572 m) rises high over the sea, with a breathtaking view. Under the mountain, one can find harbours, hidden beaches like the ‘Two Sisters’, two large rocks rising from the water. The mount Conero itself is worth a visit, with the small villages full of history and art.

The Marche hills

Between the sea and the mountains, the Marche region typically shows a series of hills running one after the other, with all the colors of the countryside.

The Sibillini Mounts

During the winter seasons you can practice downhill or crosscountry ski in the Sibillini Mounts, the place where the Sybill had her home. When the winter season is over, you can find a large network of tracks for promenades walking, bycicling or with a horse.

A writer once defined the Marche landscape the most typical among all the Italian landscapes. In this imposing scenery you can find artistic excellences from different sources, expression of a plurality of cultures along the centuries.

The architectures of the towns

In the Marche, 18 small towns have been recognized among the most beautiful ‘Borghi’ in Italy and are members of a club that gathers the small Italian centers with a special artistic or historical value; moreover, 17 places have been recognized with the ‘Orange Flag’, the prestigious flag given by the Italian Touring Club in appreciation of their activity for the conservation of their natural and artistic beauties, and for the services to the tourists.

The museums

The Marche is a Region that can be considered a unique museum, a network of towns and villages in a sea of hills, facing valleys leading from the mountains to the sea, where you can find masterpieces by Piero della Francesca, Lorenzo Lotto, Rubens, Tiziano, roman remainings, ceramic shops, ...

Knowing the Marche means stopping in cities and ancient villages for lots of events with music, theater, films and dance. 


The Macerata Opera Festival in the open air Arena Sferisterio, well known and loved thorough the world, will be held from July 2nd, 2012 till Aug 14th, 2012. In the stage there will be La Traviata by Giuseppe Verdi, La Bohème by Giacomo Puccini, and La Carmen by Georges Bizet. Four replicas per each opera, plus a rich side program of concertos, performances and exhibitions.

On the stage

Many Marche towns, even some very small, have a season of music and prose, held in little jewels of art.

The many rivers, all leading East to flow into the Adriatic Sea, create many falls and gorges, like the Gola del Furlo, della Rossa e di Frasassi. The water can be clean and transparent, but also boiling, full of mud and mineral elements, and is the main actor also in the underground splendid world of the Marche.


Thanks to the properties of the water, mineral springs all around Marche are well known for their curative properties, for their aesthetic benefits, and also for bottling. Among the most famous, we can remember the Terme di Camerano and the Terme di Genga in Ancona Province, and the Terme di Sarnano and the Terme Santa Lucia in Macerata.
